Thinking of You

More often than not, I design all of my projects using my Silhouette software, then cut it out with my Cameo. I have a great visual of what my project will look like in the end.  This card was not different, except I ran into problems with the machine.  It could be the new update, or it could be my machine was just rebelling against me and wanted the night off.  So I took a different approach with this adorable little troll.

I colored this image with Photoshop.  I was looking for something very specific and knew that my coloring talents were not there yet.  So digital coloring it was for this pretty little lady.  Not quite the look I was going for with her hair, but I love how her dress turned out

Now, because my machine was giving me grief, and wouldn't cut the papers and designs, I decided to go digital with my card.  Rather than creating a card with the image, I created a digital postcard.  Now, I can send a "Thinking Of You" message to a friend the day I know they need it most.

I still did all of my designing with my software, but rather than do a print and cut, I did a print to PDF.  After than, I did a little magic in Photoshop and I have a fun, bright and colorful digital postcard I can send anytime I feel the need.

A Happy Garden

Good Morning Everyone!!!

I am back again with another fabulous image from the collection.  Sherri has so many wonderful designs that it is impossible to decide which one to create with each time I make a card.  This little doll is so  cute, and was so much fun to color.  I thought it very fitting for this time of year as many of us are getting our gardens planted and ready to go.

Image #0118

This little cutie I colored with Photoshop, with lots of spring colors.   How fun is that big sun hat with a big bow and lots of flowers?   As you know, I do not add a sentiment to my cards until I need them. This way, any card I make can be used for any occasion.  With Sherri's images, they are perfect for card and any occasion.

Here is what I have done with this fabulous image.

Thanks for stopping in today.

Peek a Boo

Hi there,

It's my turn to share with you something I made. I decided to use this darling girl, Img963.
I just think she is absolutely adorable.

For this card, I just made a regular card like I normally would. It's a 5x5 card base. Then I just added a second piece of paper, scored it, then used double sided tape to join the two pieces together. I had seen cards like this made, but never have found a pattern for it, so I basically had to figure it out. It really was a fun card to make. The front of the card base, I stamped a sentiment, but when you open up the card, I then have all the room in the world to be able to write what ever I want to say to the person I am giving it too. I think that's kind of clever also.
Anyway, if you would like more info on this card you can find it here.
Hugs, and happy crafting!
Sandy.

What could you do with tissue paper, soap and a Bestie

Hey everyone!  With Mother's Day right around the corner
alot of memories have floated in and out of mind.

I was already knitting up some washclothes to add
to my stash when one of those old memories popped
into my head and BAM the idea was born and ready
for me to get busy.

What possibly could a bar of soap and tissue paper have to do
with a Besties?

Way back in my elementary school years when you would
make Mother's Day presents as your art class we did a project
with pretty printed napkins and soap.  Cutting up the napkin
and adhering to the soap for our gifts with a little note.

Why not recreate this idea with my own twist.

Taking Besties Printables and printing them onto the tissue paper
and mod podging them to the soap for a sweet little gift.
With tons of cuties to pick from the ideas are endless

Check out all the printables available

So the question is how?  Cut a piece of the tissue paper to fit a piece of paper
and tape it down and run through your printer.  Easy as that.

Cut around your image.  Doesn't have to be perfect.
Brush on the mod podge to the soap and put your image
down.

You need to brush a layer on top as well.  Make sure to have plenty of
mod podge on your brush as you want to make one good pass
over the top.  If you try to brush several times, the ink will bleed.
You can add another coat after the first dries to finish it off.

I paired a bar of Besties soap with a handmade washcloth
and tyed with a ribbon for a sweet little gift.

I hope you have enjoyed todays little idea.

Happy crafting
